Lance Segars, Ph.D. Dr. Segars received his Ph.D. with distinction from the University of Pittsburgh. He has been a lecturer at the SDSU School of Social work since 1989. Dr. Segars has worked extensively with community-based agencies throughout California providing technical assistance and training in prevention program design and evaluation. Examples of his work include: Senior Evaluation Specialist under a contract with the U.S. Department of Education, Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Prevention; Evaluation Consultant with the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and Project Manager for a San Diego County grant awarded from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to apply computer modeling to drinking and driving prevention. Dr. Segars has also worked with the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, coordinating evaluation work among federal grantees in criminal justice. |
