Mark B. Reed, Ph.D. Dr. Reed is a Professor at the School of Social Work, San Diego State University. He received his graduate training in Social Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Reed has worked as a Research Scientist in the field of substance use prevention since 2000 and has worked at San Diego State University since 2004. He has published numerous research articles in psychological and public health journals. His current research interests include: the psychological and environmental influences of the concurrent use of alcohol and cigarettes; the relationship between social identity, normative information and alcohol consumption; and examining the social and psychological risk/protective factors related to changes in adolescent/young adult substance use trajectories. Currently, Dr. Reed is the Principal Investigator of a $147,000 grant funded by the Tobacco Related Disease Research Project, examining environmental predictors of social smoking among young adults. |
