Mark B. Reed, Ph.D. Dr. Reed is a Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work, San Diego State University. He received his graduate training in Social Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Reed has worked as a Research Scientist in the field of substance use prevention since 2000 and has worked at San Diego State University since 2004. He has published numerous papers in psychological and public health journals. His current research interests include: the environmental, social and psychological risk/protective factors related to changes in adolescent/young adult substance use trajectories; brief interventions for alcohol and substance abuse, and health disparities related to substance abuse and addiction. Currently, Dr. Reed is the Principal Investigator of a $147,000 grant funded by the Tobacco Related Disease Research Project, examining environmental predictors of social smoking among young adults. He is also a co-investigator on two research projects funded by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. |
