Jong Won Min, Ph.D. Jong Won Min is an Associate Professor at San Diego State University and a Research Scientist with the Center for Alcohol and Drug Studies. Dr. Min is a John A. Hartford Foundation Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar. His research interest includes health disparities, social determinants of health, ethnic enclaves and chronic disease management among Asian American elders, minority aging, and alcohol abuse among older population. Currently he is examining the use of alcohol and substance among senior residents in supportive housing facilities in San Diego, and developing an intervention aimed at reducing the negative impact of alcohol and substance abuse. Also, Dr. Min has published papers on health disparities, social capital and health, health of older Asian Americans, cultural values and preference for caregiver for Mexican-American elders, and cultural competency. |
