Sally Mathiesen Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Dr. Mathiesen is a Research Fellow of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Studies, and an Associate Professor with the School of Social Work, San Diego State University . She received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California with a specialization in Social Work and Mental Health. Dr. Mathiesen has published over 20 journal articles and served as a Principal and Co-Principal Investigator on numerous grants. Her research interests are in mental health over the life span: co-occurring disorders, family response to serious mental illness, child welfare and children's mental health and international social work practice issues.
