Sally Mathiesen Ph.D.
Research Fellow

Dr. Mathiesen is a Research Fellow of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Studies and Services, and an Associate Professor with the School of Social Work, San Diego State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California with a specialization in Social Work and Mental Health. Dr. Mathiesen has published over 20 journal articles and served as a Principal and Co-Principal Investigator on numerous grants. Her research interests are in mental health over the life span: family response to severe and persistent mental illness, child welfare and children's mental health and international social work practice issues.
