Tom Beers, Ph.D.
CASBIRT Clinical Director

Dr. Beers is currently the Clinical Director for the CASBIRT Program. Dr. Beers received his Masters degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Beers work experience includes being the Director of Outpatient/Emergency Services at the Alcohol Counseling Program of the Community Mental Health Center of Escambia County in Pensacola, Florida, and Director of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program at Kaiser Permanente. While at Kaiser he directed the activities of a staff of 26 licensed providers. In 1998, Dr. Beers received an Exceptional Contribution Award for Outstanding Leadership. Dr. Beers also served as a Clinical Preceptor for the U.S. Navy's Drug and Alcohol Program where he provided supervision and training to approximately 150 counselors over a 20 year period. Simultaneously, Dr. Beers was the Chairman of the San Diego County Alcohol Advisory Board.
