The SDSU DUI (Driving Under the Influence) Program began in January 1991, under a contract with the County of San Diego to provide drinking diver education and counseling services in the Central Judicial District of San Diego County. The program's mission is to help reduce the incidence and prevalence of driving under the influence and the negative consequences of this behavior. Furthermore, the mission of the SDSU DUIP Program is to assist participants in identifying and seeking solutions to their alcohol and other drug problems. The Central District DUI Program is located in Kearny Mesa, and provides services to approximately 3,500-4,000 first and multiple time convicted offenders per year.
